🗂️ Files & Cleanup

The Files tab is the per-statement view. Every other tab pools your transactions together; this one keeps them one statement at a time, which is where verification lives. A on the tab label means at least one statement is waiting on you.

What's on a statement card

The filename, the account and its transaction count, the statement period, the file size and when it was analyzed — plus its verification badge and the computed totals the app arrived at. Everything is visible at once; there is nothing to expand to see the result.

📄 Open source PDF — opens the copy of the PDF this app keeps in your folder.

Printed totals ▸ — the figures the app read from the statement, and a form to type in any it couldn't. It opens automatically when entering them is the useful next step, and stays one click away otherwise.

Teach the app — on bank and card statements whose labels the app doesn't recognize.

Report this statement — on a statement that failed or was rejected. It sends the detected issuer, statement type, page count, and transaction count. No filename, no account details, no transaction text.

Deleting one statement

The red × at the top-right of a card removes that statement. There is a single confirmation, and it names exactly what goes.

What it removes: this app's two copies — the cached analysis, and the copy of the PDF the app saved in its own statements/ folder.

What it never touches: the file you dropped in. The app reads your input folder and has no way to write to it, so your original stays where you keep it.

What is lost with the analysis: any totals you entered, any cash classifications you made, and your Accept or Reject decision for that statement.

What is kept: layouts you taught. Those are stored per layout, not per statement, so they still work on your next statement from the same institution.

Analyses with no PDF in this folder

If you delete or move a statement PDF outside the app, its analysis is still loaded — its transactions still count toward all your totals — but there's no file left for a card to be built from. Those appear in their own amber block, badged ⚠ PDF missing — source file no longer in your folder.

Each one shows what it can (filename if known, account, transaction count, period) and offers a × to delete the leftover analysis. There is deliberately no Open-PDF, teach, or enter-totals control on these cards: every one of those needs the PDF that's missing.

This block exists because the alternative is worse — an analysis quietly inflating your totals with no way to reach it.

Backing up

📦 Export Backup saves your rules, preferences, and action items; 📥 Restore Backup loads them into a new folder or a fresh install. Worth doing before you delete anything.
